Succulents &  Cacti  are very easy plants to grow, requiring little care. And though most are not hardy for Mid West Winter temps, they transfer easily into the house for safe winter keeping Oct - April. 

Generally speaking, most options grow best outdoors in about a half day of sun, and enjoy  a bit of shade in the afternoon. Some options prefer hot sun all day.
